152 The one, the immigrant, lifted high into the heavens with happiness, will attract all eyes, be admired and blessed for two very fine reasons: because he has turned to God – and because he receives the appropriate reward for it, a secure dwelling place in heaven (which is not right to speak of). The other, the one of noble birth, who has corrupted the customs of his noble lineage, will be brought down into the deepest abyss, cast down into the underworld and the deepest darkness; so that all people who see this example may be instructed and learn that God welcomes it when virtue grows despite an unfavorable background; that he does not concern himself with the roots, but rather welcomes the budding branch, because through grafting it is transformed into fruitfulness.
