Galatians

1
1 Paul, apostle not of men, not even through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead, 2 and all the brethren who are with me, to the churches of Galatia. 3 Grace be with you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who gave Himself for our sins, to tear us out of this evil age, according to the will of God our Father. 5 Him be the glory to eternity. Amen. 6 I am astonished that you are so quick to turn away from Him who called you in the grace of [Christ] towards another gospel, 7 which doesn’t even exist. There are only certain people who want to confuse you and turn the gospel of Christ into the opposite. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach to you a gospel other than that which we preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, I say again: if anyone preaches to you a gospel that is different from what you have received, let him be accursed. 10 Am I now looking to get people on my side or God? Or am I trying to please people? If I still wanted to please men, I would not be Christ’s servant. 11 For I tell you, brethren, that the gospel which I have preached is not of a human nature. 12 For neither did I receive it from a man, nor did I learn it, but through a revelation of Jesus Christ. 13 You have heard of my former Jewish way of life, that I persecuted the church of God beyond measure and sought to destroy it. 14 And I was constantly making progress in the Jewish way of life, beyond many of my peers in my people, and was in excess a zealot for my paternal traditions. 15 But when it pleased him who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me by his grace, 16 to reveal his Son to me, that I might proclaim him among the nations, I did not at once counsel myself with flesh and blood, 17 did not go up to Jerusalem to those who had been apostles before me, but went to Arabia and returned to Damascus. 18 It was only after that, three years later, that I went up to Jerusalem to know Cephas, and stayed with him for fifteen days. 19 I have not seen any other of the apostles, except James, the brother of the Lord. 20 What I am writing to you, behold, by God, I do not lie. 21 Then I went to the areas of Syria and Cilicia. 22 But I was not personally known to the churches of Judea that are in Christ. 23 They had only heard: He who once persecuted us is now proclaiming the faith that he once sought to destroy. 24 And they glorified God for my sake.
